Papaver Orientale – Nana Allegro Poppy Seeds

For any lover of poppies, Nana Allegro is a beautiful variety with flowers in keeping with the traditional and iconic Remembrance Day poppy. A member of the Papaver Orientale family, this dwarf Asian variety is a lovely specimen to add to any collection, marking itself out as something a little different.

Producing gorgeous flowers that are five to six inches in diameter, Nana Allegro has petals of deep red, with dark black centers which contrast sublimely. Growing to only 24 inches in height they are the perfect Oriental poppy variety to mix in with other larger varieties, and combined with complimentary colors will add yet another layer of height to any flower garden.

Thriving in most garden soils as long as they are not waterlogged, Nana is a perennial variety of poppy, bringing its beautiful blooms to the garden every spring. Hardy for zones 3-8 it leads very little maintenance to keep it in top condition, and such is a perfect herbaceous plant. Sowing this pack of 200 poppy seeds in the fall or spring will encourage seedlings to shoot up, and before long a garden will be filled with vibrant and iconic red and black Nana Allegro blooms.
