A beautiful member of the Breadseed poppy family, the White Persian specimen is a fantastic poppy seed addition to any garden. Single flowers measuring between three and four inches delicately rise up through a border offering icy white blooms. Setting off the delicate yellow pollen and green centers fantastically, they are ideal plants for creating height within an area, drawing the eye and creating intrigue.

With single flowers rising up on structural stalks of between three and four foot, White Persian is a great poppy to use as base palette color. Alternatively it could be used to punctuate a border with crisp, white highlights. As petals fall, Papaver Somniferum reveals a second favorable characteristic that many gardeners will enjoy. Beautiful poppy seed pods develop, adding a new element to the garden and a gorgeous sight, especially in the winter as frosts and snowfalls cling to the sculpted shape. Also known as the Florist Poppy, these seed pods are also ideal for flower arranging.

An annual plant, White Persian develops white poppy seeds easily and if left to its own devices will happily seed itself around any plot. Alternatively seeds can be collected and stored until planting in fall or early spring for a fresh crop of plants. And with a pack of poppy seeds, these cool white Papaver Somniferum poppies will be lighting up the garden in no time.
